NOTIFICATION
RAJASTHAN STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR LECTURERSHIP 2009

01- The Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer will hold a State Eligibility Test for Lectureship on SUNDAY of the 22-11-2009 for determining the eligibility of candidates for recruitment as lecturers in Universities and Colleges of Rajasthan in 24 subjects as given in para - 02. Recruitment to the post of lecturer may be made from among the SET qualified candidates by Universities/Colleges/Recruitment Agencies as per their prescribed procedures and Rules & Regulations.

03- CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :

I . Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from University/Institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Physically Handicapped (PH)/ Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree or equivalent examination are eligible for th
is Test.

II. Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master's degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master's degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

III. The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%)for appearing in SET.

IV. Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post- graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of SET subjects in Para No. 2 may appear in a related subject.

EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT :-

The Category wise Fee plus cost of Application Form are as under :
For General and OBC (Creamy layer) Candidates fee is : Rs. 500+50=550/-
For OBC (Non-Creamy layer) Candidates fee is : Rs. 250+50=300/-
For SC/ST/PH/VH Candidates fee is : Rs. 125+50=175/-

For concession in Fee the candidates must enclose relevant duly attested copy of certificate.

The fee should be paid in CASH ONLY. Payment of fee in any other mode will not be accepted. Fee once paid will neither be refunded nor adjusted against fee payable for any other examination conducted by the commission under any circumstances

Paper - I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper - II shall consist of short questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each of these papers will consist of a Test Booklet containing 50 objective type question. The candidate will have to mark the response for each question on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided alongwith the Test Booklet. The detailed instructions for filling up the OMR Sheet will be sent to the candidate alongwith the Admit Card.

Paper - III will consist of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The candidate will be required to attempt question in the space provided in the Test Booklet. The format of Paper - III has been revised w.e.f. June 2005 UGC - NET and is available on the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in. Paper - III will be evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper -II

For Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates thirty minutes extra time shall be provided separately for paper - I and paper - II. For Paper - III forty five minutes extra time shall be provided. They will also be provided the services of a scribe who would be a graduate in a subject other than that of the candidate. Those Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates who are not in a
position on write in their own hand writing can also avail these services be making prior request (at least one week before the date of SET) in writing to the centre superintendent. Extra time and facility of scribe would not be provided to other Physically Handicapped candidates.

SYLLABUS OF TEST : The syllabi for all the paper is that of UGC/CSIR , NET examination. For science subjects viz. Life Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Science, the paper I will be according to syllabi of UGC-NET, the Paper II will be from the syllabi of Section (B) of paper I of CSIR and paper III will be from the syllabi of paper II of CSIR. The syllabi may be obtained from the following websites :-

LAST DATE :

The last date for receipt of dully filled APPLICATION FORM and RECRUITMENT OMR APPLICATION FORM in the office of Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer shall be 31-07-2009 up to 6.00 PM . Application received after the closing date and specified time shall not be entertained by the Commission in any case.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP THE APPLICATION FORM :

I The candidates seeking admission to the test must apply in the prescribed Application Format. The candidates must read the conditions for eligibility as given in para 03 carefully and must satisfy themselves regarding eligibility for the test before submitting the Application Form.

II In addition to the Application Form, the candidates are also required to enclose with it a duly filled 'Computer Sheet' titles as RECRUITMENT OMR APPLICATION FORM. The Computer Sheet must be filled in by Blue Ball Pen as per instructions enclosed with it.

III The candidates should fill in the RECRUITMENT OMR APPLICATION FORM legibly and carefully as per directions given in the format in their own handwriting by BLUE BALL POINT PEN.

IV The RECRUITMENT OMR APPLICATION FORM and Application Form can be obtained from following agencies :-

The categorywise fee plus cost of Application Form are as under :

V The candidate should note in particular that if he/she is allotted the same centre for the SET exam. in which he/she is employed, he/she should bring it to the notice of centre superintendent and Commission immediately for reallocation.

VI The candidates must affix their recent passport size photograph (all photographs must be from the same negative) at the decided place indicated in the Application Form and should sign across the photograph at the top after it is affixed so that part of the signature spreads over the Application Form beyond the photograph, otherwise it will be rejected. Besides, photograph must be duly attested by the Head of the department or any Gazetted Officer.

VII The candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at their Master's Degree Final Examination must get the 'Attestation' given at the bottom of the Application Format signed by the Head of the Institution / Department.

GENERAL INSTRUCTION :

I. Admission Cards for the test containing the time-table will be issued to the candidates about three weeks before the date of the test. The candidates are advised to contact the Assistant Secretary (SET), Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer in case admission card is not received two weeks before the date of the test.

II. Candidates are advised to fill in all the columns correctly and carefully in the Computer Sheet. Information given by you are read and entered as such by the computer itself and will be taken as final. No further communication in this regards will be entertained by the Commission.

III. The candidates should note that their candidature for the test shall be PROVISIONAL. No candidate shall be permitted to the test unless he/she holds a valid admission card for the test.

IV The use of calculator / Log tables / Cellular / Mobile phone / Pager etc. are not allowed inside the examination hall.

V. All disputes arising and pertaining to the conduct of these tests shall fall within the jurisdiction of the Rajasthan High Court at Jaipur bench only.

VI No. T.A. will be paid to candidates.

VII In all matters, the decision of the Commission shall be final.

VIII Candidates will not be allowed to write any question from the Test Booklet on the Admission Card or on any other paper etc.
