United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the Global Education Centre-II (GEC-II) of Infosys here on Tuesday,September 15th, 2009 and described it as “a stunning reminder of what Indian talent, ingenuity, competence and hard work” could accomplish.

The GEC-II, located on the Infosys premises, has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 350 crore. It is the largest monolithic structure to be constructed in independent India with a built-up area of more than 10 lakh sq ft.

The company can provide training to 23,500 people at a time, making it one of the largest corporate education centres in the world.

The building of the new facility shares architectural resemblance with that of India's parliament and Rome's Colosseum. The entire Infosys campus here is spread over 337 acres.

Speaking after the inauguration, Ms. Gandhi said Infosys had proved that Indian companies could not only be world class but also be ahead of it.

Ms. Gandhi complimented Infosys mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy and his team for their endeavour.

APPSC[APSPSC] had released notification for the long awaited Group 2 Examinations. In fact the notification was released secretly 2 days back without informing to the print media and they had delayed to keep the notification details on their website www.apspsc.gov.in .

Recently APSPSC had also Group I Supplementary Notification for the year 2009 .

Here goes the details of the Group II notification:

Applications are invited On-line through the proforma Application to be made available on WEBSITE (www.apspsc.gov.in) from 01/10/2009 to 03/11/2009 for recruitment to the post of Group-II Services.

The Commission has dispensed with the sale of applications through HPOs / Sales Counter of Commission’s office. The desirous eligible Candidates may apply ON-LINE by satisfying themselves with the terms and conditions of this recruitment. The details are as follows:-

Keeping in view, the actual requirement with reference to the nature of work and activities of the Departments and also the overall Financial implications on the Government exchequer and in relaxation of the orders issued in G.O. Ms. No. 424 GA (Ser.A) Dept., dt. 15/12/2007, the Government in Finance Department have accorded permission for filling up of Additional vacancies falling under Group-II Services in addition to the vacancies already notified vide Notification No. 38/2008, dt. 30/12/2008, vide D.O. Letter No. 13860-B/737/A3/SMPC/2008-3/1, dt. 19/01/2009 and D.O. Lr. No. 5128/295/A3/SMPC/2009, dt. 27/02/2009. The Government have also issued orders duly enhancing the upper age limit to these Additional posts up to 39 years (other than uniformed services).

How to pay Fees and fill in the Application Form.

I Step:- The Candidate has to log-on to the WEBSITE (www.apspsc.gov.in) and enter his/her Basic Details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, and Community.

II Step:- Immediately on entering the above details the Applicant will get Challan Form to pay the Fee at AP Online centers /State Bank of India.

III Step:- The Applicant should pay the prescribed Fee in any one of the A.P. Online centers / State Bank of India and obtain Fee paid Challan with Journal Number in the first instance.

IV Step:- On the next working day after payment of Fee the Applicant should again visit WEBSITE and enter the Journal Number to get the format of Application. The applicant has to invariably fill all the columns in the Application for submission.

EAMCET 2009 Second Phase Counselling Important Dates

With the recent EAMCET 2009 First Phase Seat Allotment Results it is decided to conduct second and final phase of web based counseling for those who have qualified in EAMCET-2009 for admission into Engineering and Pharmacy Courses on account of increase in seats because of sanction of New Engineering & Pharmacy Colleges and also availability of left over vacancies of I phase.

I. Who can participate?

1) Candidates who secured seat in I Phase of web based counseling and wish to move to another course or college.

2) Candidates who participated in I phase of web based counseling and could not secure a seat.

3) Candidates qualified in EAMCET-09 and got their certificates verified but did not participate in I Phase of Web based counseling.

II. Exercising Options:

Candidates can exercise options as per the schedule given below:

Candidates who wish to change their options should go to any one of Help Line Centres on 24.09.2009 it self between 9.00 AM to 05.00 PM and change options after remitting Rs.600/-. The options recorded in the server at 8.00 PM of 24.09.2009 will be considered for allotment of seats.

IV. Attention of Sports Candidates:
The Hon’ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh in W.P.No. 15393 of 2009 and W.P.No. 14270 of 2009 has directed to include Ball Badminton Under Games & Sports Quota for admission into Engineering and Pharmacy Courses. Hence, All the candidates who are claiming admission
under sport quota are hereby informed that the seats earmarked under sport quota are not filled during I phase of Engineering & Pharmacy Admissions to give opportunity to the candidates of Ball-Badminton also. The Sports quota seats will be filled during II phase.
ALL such candidates who are claiming admissions under Sports Quota have to once again exercise options for the seats under sport quota.

V. Important General Information:

Allotment of the engineering seats on this Sunday can be known easily to the students who gave their mobile numbers.They will receive an SMS alert on the allotted course and college.

On the whole 1.47 lakh students out of the 1.6 lakh have registered mobile numbers for SMS alerts.

Students can download their allotment statement order from the website http://apeamcet.nic.in. Candidates have to log onto the website, enter their hall-ticket number, registration number, date of birth and password after which the allotment order would be displayed. The bank challan for paying the fee can also be downloaded from the website.

Good news for the students who are awaiting the Indian Oil Scholarships for this year 2009.There are totally 450 Scholarships announced for the students of 10+/ITI, Engineering, MBBS & MBA Courses .

Of the 450 Scholarships, 250 are for the 10+/ITI students and the remaining 200 are for the students pursuing 1st year of Engineering, MBBS and MBA courses on zonal merit basis.

ELIGIBILITY:

Students pursuing full time courses in these streams & studying in Schools/Colleges/Institutions/Universities recognized by MCI/AICTE/State Education Boards/ State Govt. / ICSC/CBSE/Central Govt./Association of Indian universities, shall be eligible to apply. The student should have bonafide admission in the 1st year of School/College/Institute/University in the academic year 2009-2010. Students of two year full time post graduate courses in Business Administration/Management recognized by Central/State Govt./Association of Indian universities and which are equivalent to MBA, are eligible for management stream scholarship. Students having confirmed admission in the first year of full time engineering degree course, MBBS, MBA and also 11th standard as well as those in the 1st year of 2 year ITI course are eligible to apply. In case of graduates, the average percentage of marks of all the academic years shall be treated as marks obtained by the candidate. Similarly in case of 10th/12th, if percentage of marks obtained is not mentioned by Board/University, percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on total aggregate marks.

Minimum eligibility percentage of marks for various categories will be as indicated above. Gross Joint income of the family of the candidate from all sources (during financial year 2008-2009) should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only). Income certificate should be issued by Competent Revenue Authorities only. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination making the students eligible to seek admission in the respective first year of these courses will be considered for selection.

Normalization of marks of applicant shall be done for Engg., MBBS & MBA streams to bring parity of marking system within different Boards/ Universities/Institutions. Criterion for selection will be merit and family’s income. Wards of the employees of IOCL, its Joint Venture and Subsidiary companies and ACE Consultants are not eligible to apply.

AGE LIMIT:

Minimum 15 years and maximum 30 years as on 1.9.2009. Persons born between 1.9.79 and 1.9.94 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

RESERVATION & RELAXATION:

Relaxation in the upper age limit is 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for physically challenged/physically handicapped candidates. 50% of the scholarships are reserved for SC/ST & OBC candidates. In each stream/ category, 25% of scholarships are reserved for girl students and 10% for physically challenged/physically handicapped students. Only those listed in the central govt’s OBC list will be considered against OBC quota. OBC candidates of state list and not covered by central govt’s OBC list may apply against general quota.

APPLICATION:

Candidates studying in 11th standard, 1st year of a 2 year ITI course, 1st year of Engineering degree, MBBS and MBA in the academic year 2009-2010 are to apply through Online Application Form by logging on to www.applicationnew.com/ioclscholar. Such candidates need not send application form by post.

In order to avoid Postal delay/loss in transit, Candidates are requested to fill the Online Application First. If for any reason candidate encounters any problem/difficulty in applying through Online System, the candidate should download the Application form containing unique Application Form No. printed on it. Candidates who are applying offline may use this application form number for all their future correspondence. Applications not in prescribed format (downloaded from the website) will be summarily rejected.

Once awarded the scholarships will be disbursed @ Rs. 2,000/- per month for 4 years in case of
Engineering & MBBS and 2 years for MBA courses; and @ Rs 1,000 per month for duration of 2 years in case of 10+ and ITI course. Duration of each course in no case be less than the duration of the scholarship. The scholarship will be suspended, if the scholar is not promoted to the next academic year.

In case, the scholar is not promoted for the second time (in succession for 2 years during the entire course), the scholar will be taken off from the list of IOCL scholars and scholarship will be discontinued permanently. The performance of the scholar must be satisfactory during the entire duration of the course. The performance is to be certified by the Head /Principal/Dean/Director of the School/College/Institute /University. The top one scholar each from final year of Engineering, Medicine & Management (who top their respective university exam) and top 10 scholars amongst final year of ITI & 12th (who are able to achieve position amongst top ten in their respective Board) will be awarded bonus prize of Rs 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each and invited to the annual day function of IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management, Gurgaon, to receive the prize. The travel, board & lodge expenses will be borne by IiPM/IOCL. A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend from any other source. If awarded any other scholarship/stipend, the student can exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same. In case, the scholar opts for any other scholarship, he/she will have to refund the scholarship amount for the duration during which he/she is in receipt of the IOCL scholarship. There will be no obligation on part of IOCL to provide employment/vocational/summer training to any of the scholars, at any time/stage. IOCL reserves the right to reject any application as well as discontinue the scholarship at any time without giving any notice/ assigning any reason.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Applications received later than 30th September 2009, will not be accepted. No correspondence on this subject will be entertained. IOCL shall not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit. No request in this regard will be entertained. Incomplete application form will be rejected. Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Delhi. The short listed candidates will be
requested separately, by post, to forward their Caste/Date of Birth/Mark Sheet/family’s Income Certificate etc., duly authenticated by appropriate competent authority/civil authority for verification of documents and drawing up final merit list. However, in case the marks, income or any other information; declared at the time of initial application; is found incorrect during scrutiny; the candidature of such candidates shall be summarily rejected. Decision of IndianOil regarding Scholar’s selection shall be final and no correspondence on the selection process shall be entertained.

Completed application form in respect of candidates, who are unable to submit the application online, on prescribed Application Format (downloaded from website), without any mark sheet/certificate/document should be forwarded so as to reach by 30th September 2009 by ordinary post, to the administrator of the scheme: ACE Consultants, Post Box No. 9248, Krishna Nagar Head Post Office, Delhi-110051.

It is decided to conduct second and final phase of web based counseling for those who have qualified in ICET- 2009 for admission into MBA & MCA Colleges/Courses on account of increase in seats because of sanction of 101 New MBA & 17 MCA Colleges and also availability of left over vacancies of Ist phase Web Based counseling.

Who can participate:

1) Candidates who secured seat in 1st Phase of web based counseling and wish to move to another course or college.
2) Candidates who participated in 1st phase of web based counseling and could not secure a seat.
